Ree-De’s Crafts
As a pastime I would create and often give odd, unique gifts to friends and family. To rave reviews. For years my friends and family encouraged me to start a business selling those items. I was not really interested in starting my own business. At that period in my life I was more focus on climbing the “corporate ladder” then climbing my own ladder.
In 1998 while climbing the “ladder” there became a period in my life where I, like so many others, found my self unemployed. While job hunting, to keep myself busy, I would sit at my table and create odd art projects. As the Christmas holidays approached- I was left scrambling trying to “buy” gifts for friends and family with a limited amount of cash. Okay, no cash. Facing the dilemma of having a very limited amount of money to spend, and wanting to give gifts that did not appear to be crappy (yes, I said crappy). I set out on my journey to purchase the best, unique, least inexpensive gifts I could afford. Well, it didn’t take long before reality set in. The gifts I wanted to buy were too expensive, and the gifts I could afford were not pleasing to the eye (again crappy).
Not only did I want to give gifts that were not tacky, I also wanted to give gifts that were unique. Something that’s hard to do on a limited budget. Feeling despair, I was forced to come up with my own creative gifts. I began to make, instead of buying, items and gave those items as gifts.
Fast forward. Who would have thought that out of trying to maintain my sanity, and too keep from being depressed. the limited original hand painted items that I once gave as gifts have now evolved into something even larger than I had anticipated.
I am excited to finally have reached the goal of taking my business to the web.
The Ree-de’s Crafts line is filled with wonderful unique, ever changing quality products. I went from hand painting clothing items to creating decorative and hand painted glassware, floral arrangements, art decoupage, specialty and bridal items.
To this, all I can say is, GOD IS GOOD!
